Special Needs

Arriving at the Airport:

**Contact your airline in advance if you will need wheelchair assistance at the airport, whether departing or arriving.**

Wheelchair assistants are available to transport passengers to the ticket agent desk and through security to the gate. Contact your airline in advance to arrange wheelchair assistance.

Wheelchairs are generally available for use inside door 3 if you prefer to transport a person with disabilities into the terminal. After use, please return the wheelchair to this area.

Parking:

Handicapped parking is available in the ramp and in the surface lot.

When accompanying a passenger, please park in short term parking, located nearby in the ramp, pick up a wheelchair if needed, and then transport the passenger into the terminal. Please do not park in front of the terminal - your vehicle will be ticketed and towed.

**Leaving your vehicle unattended at the curb is prohibitted.**

Visual Interpretation Service:

Dane County Regional Airport provides free access to Aira, a service that connects blind and low-vision travelers to highly-trained agents via a smartphone app. By simply pressing a button in the app, agents are able to provide objective visual information of a traveler’s environment to enhance independent navigation.

For a smoother travel experience, we recommend downloading the app and registering for a free account before you arrive:

Step 1: Download the free Aira app to your smartphone.
Step 2: Open the app, enter your mobile number and select the “Get Started” button.
Step 3: You’ll receive a text with a temporary, four-digit code. Enter the code in the app to verify your mobile number and complete your registration.
